In pursuit of the best ice cream, made with the best ingredients, Deb and Bob Saunders realized it's true . . . "if you want something done right, you just have to do it yourself!" After successfully completing courses on ice cream manufacturing at Penn State University and the University of Maryland, Deb and Bob opened a retail ice cream shop and manufacturing facility in Barrington, Rhode Island. The Daily Scoop opened its doors in June, 2000 and quickly earned a reputation throughout Rhode Island and South Eastern Massachusetts for making the best ice cream around which was confirmed by receiving the 'Best of Rhode Island' accolade from Rhode Island Monthly magazine. The Daily Scoop now operates a second retail shop in Bristol and sells pints in supermarkets across Rhode Island, South Eastern Massachusetts, and Connecticut.
